On January 14, 2004, the Council of the Haut-Richelieu declared its jurisdiction over the entire territory for the establishment, maintenance and operation of a fiber optic network with opto-electronic equipment. The latter connects the city halls of 13 municipalities, fire stations and some suburban municipal libraries.
